I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem as me. My son is very resistant to trying new foods. I have tried the gerber puffs and he just rolls it around in his mouth when I put it in and then he spits it out. When I tried a mashed banana he gagged himself. I don't think I will try that anymore. He also won't drink out of a sippy cup. He just plays with it. I haven't tried that many foods yet and the doctor told me to keep trying. My son is 10 months old and I guess I am getting frustrated that he won't try anything else besides baby food and drink from his bottle. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi Terri, Don't give up, I know it is frustrating. I had the same trouble with my daughter. I would always put some finger foods on her highchair tray and also feed her baby food. She also took a while to use the sippy cup. I have always used Avent bottle so I bought the Avent sippy's. Since the bottle nipple fits on the sippy I started them that way with some water or juice. Just be patient, before you know it he will start eating everything. My daughter was about one year before she really started to eat finger foods and use the sippy all the time. She still gets a bottle for naps and bedtime, but I will be stopping those soon.
