I have been making my sons baby food. My son eats like a horse. His favorites are Apples/Mangoes and Tomatoes&Rice w/basil. Is anyone else? How is it going? Do you have any good recipes? |

I also make all of my daughter's baby food. The Internet has been great in giving me ideas and I have bought a few books with lots of great recipies too. My daughter's current favorites are cauliflower and potato cubes (just boil both and then puree in the blender), bean and potato cubes (boil the potatoes and use canned no sugar, no salt added beans), and apple, pear, peach mixed together. She also loves pure canned pumpkin and avocado, which are easy when I don't have anything prepared. I have also read where I could combine chicken with veggies and seal it in foil and bake. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds easy and yummy! Check out this website: www.wholesomebabyfood.com.
How do you cook the mangoes? How do you know they are ripe? How old is your son?
Thanks! |

I buy frozen organic mangoes most of the time and boil it with the apples but if I buy ripe I just puree with the boiled apples. mangoes are similar to avacodos just squeeze it to see if it is a little soft. my son is 7 mths old. I absolutely love cooking for him. I just tried a couple new recipes this week: sweet potatoe, spinach, and peas corn, carrots and potatoe I can't wait to check out the website. |

I loved making my son's food. He is 8 1/2 months old now, so he mostly wants to eat what we eat, so I just cook veggies and pasta a little longer for him and cut it up small. He love to feed himself and is getting really good at it. |

My Son is now 10mths old and eating almost everything we eat. I truly believe he has such a good appetite because we offered him a wide variety from the very beginning. It is time consuming but, well worth it! I will defeinetely make baby food for my second child. |
