Hi
I have a 13 going on 14 going on 40 year old!! LOL
He is generally a very well mannered young man and for the most part, has done well in school. We just moved here a few months ago and I think with the move, school, hormones and everything else that is going on, he has lost it!!! It is like he has no concern about anything and does not have to be responsible for anything.... he sometimes drives me crazy!! lol

Hi Lorraine!

My son is 16 now. He's gone from a cuddly, respectful, funny, bright and positive 12yo to a lazy, grumpy, disrespectful 16yo. We just grit our teeth and look for the good that glimmers through sometimes.

Hi Lorraine,
It has to be the hormones that causes lost of common sense. Now I think girls get it back in their 20's but I am not so sure about boys since my man still does stupid things, lol.

My son went from sweet to "Mr. additude" as well, as soon as he turned 15. I am starting to believe that it has a lot to do with them trying to break free from us and start to become a man. I realized that I needed to change my approach with him, and treat him like a young man instead of a little boy (I didnt realize I was doing it). It worked wonders, we get along so much better now.

I try to treat my son like a young man most of the time - but he balks. He wants to remain a kid. I guess he knows adult responsibility is hard and he doesn't want to have to face it.
