Sleeping problems...
I got no sleep last night. My almost 3 month old is such a fussy sleeper, I don't know what to do. I was sooooooooooooo late to work this morning because I was trying to catch up, but I don't feel any better. Its like he's dreaming in his sleep or trying to wake up but can't and all he does is squirm around all night. A few weeks ago he started the teething process (I think), but now I'm not entirely sure that is the issue. I called the doctor and asked if I should be worried about his new sleeping pattern and he said no, that as long as he's gaining weight and eating and pooping as usual that all is fine. I'm thinking of giving him an extra 2 ounces at night, which would mean keeping him up earlier b/c the babysitter feeds him around 5. When I get him its 6 and he's not hungry at that time. But I really depend on him to go to bed around 7 or 8 so that I can get ready for work/cook/clean, and its hard to keep him up at that time b/c he usually falls asleep anyway. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to correct these problems? Any suggestion would help!

I feel your pain and I wish I had some advice for you but, I dont, my son who is 9 1/2 months is up on and off all night too, he goes around 9 and gets up at least three or four times and I have to rock him back to sleep the last time I was up with him last night was 2am. Sorry just needed to vent. Hope it gets better for you.

Is he eating cereal yet? Maybe you can start him on cereal, just feed him before he goes to sleep. He might be having a growth spur and is still hungry? Ask your pedi about it, might help? But I am truly not the one to give advice. My daughter is 6 months old ( I just started her on cereal and solids) and she is still getting up 3 times a night for a bottle! =). And she is teething! I have been told it helps other babies sleep longer, because they are full.

Hi Eva,
sorry to hear about this, we are in the same boat. My little girl is 5 months and has been getting up every 1 to 2 hours the last few nights. If your baby is teething you may be heading in the same direction as me. Have you tried giving your baby gas releiver or tylenol? When I do that she sometimes stay asleep for a good period of time. You should also ask you babysitter to walk your baby for an hour everyday. They say that an hour of fresh air makes a big difference.
Sorry this is all I could offer. Hope you get some sleep!

Not sure how naps are for your little one, but, the better he naps during the day, the better he will sleep at night. A lot of people think that if you keep them up instead they will be so tired they will sleep better or that putting them down later at night will make them sleep better, this (supposedly) is not the case at all. I know when my 9 month sleeps good during the day, he always sleeps better at night. Mine still wakes up at night, too. I nurse him to sleep (I know, big no no) around 7-7:30 and he sleeps until 1 or 2 and I nurse him again and he's up usually once before before he's up for good around 6. Try the gas relief drops- see if it works at all. I have been having to give him those every night before bed lately and he sleeps better. Also, when he wakes up, try not to run right to him, if you can stand it. He may go back to sleep on his own if he isn't hungry... Hope this helps.
