Hello everyone, This is Maila.I've been with my husband for 13 years and been married for 9 years. We have 2 girls,7 and 2 years old.Feel free to read my profile if you have time.Me and my family will be homeschooling next year.We would've liked to have started this school year but i needed more time to prepare and i was looking for a private ISP (as a starter) thinking that it might take a long time to look for one since there are so many of them. But i already found one in my state that i know will work for me and my family.Since we'll start next year,i can have more time getting ready with the necessary things my daughter will be needing.I'm very excited about this. This is all for now. Take care everyone. -Maila |

It's great that you were able to take the time to find what you needed for homeschooling. There are a large number of homeschoolers who would ask you why not go ahead and start now. Many of us have taken our kids out during the school year to start homeschooling; it's a common practice.
However, you know what is best for YOUR family. I'm glad you get to start so young with your kids too. I wish I could've, but I'm grateful that I get the opportunity now to spend that time with them!
12 years, 13 years - whatever! Ours is really complicated because we been married & divorced (twice) - which dates do you use? We grew out of all that, thank goodness, and we just go with the first marriage date now - which means we've been together 17 years! |

Hi Maila!!! I'm Crystal! Welcome to our group. I just wanted to say that no matter how much you "prepare" yourself for homeschooling you're still going to be a nervouse wreck at first until you get into the groove of it, but once you get over that "hump" you'll wonder why you didn't start sooner! As Kelly said, don't be afraid to take your girls out of school mid-stream! I took my son out 2 months before school was out! Of course, there were other reasons for that, but it still worked out great! But, I too agree, you need to do what's best for your family! :) Good luck! |
