Hi Jodi, that's great! In my opinion... breastfeeding is wonderful- In so many ways but, especially that it gives your baby antibodies that formula cannot, and any amount of breast milk will be better than none. I don't know for sure but you may be able to produce more by pumping. Definitely try getting her to nurse and see if she will and take it from there. A lactation consultant should be able to help you if really want to continue. Babies go through growth spurts where they need more milk and will nurse more so that you produce more and then don't need as much again, etc. Our bodies naturally accommodate this but since it has been 9 weeks you may need to increase your supply superficially- with pumping or natural herbs, teas, etc. Just make sure that you ask your pedi first- some of these aren't good. Good luck and keep us posted, I'd like to know what happens! |

I agree that breastfeeding is great. You should give it a try. However, the most important thing is to do what is right for you and your baby. Don't feel pressured to breastfeed if it just doesn't work. Give it a fair try, and good luck. |

Do you still have a lot of milk or can you just squeeze it out? I stopped breastfeeding 2 months ago and I can still get some out but not nearly enough to feed my son. Just curious? |

When i squeeze it it like pours out so im assuming theres some in there. But im going to try to just do it a little and still resume formula feeding like everyone says a little is better than none but when she starts nursing it will give my body the sign to start making more..So if you are going to dont worry your body will eventually produce what you need you may have to pump though i dont think im going to have to though. |
