Hi all im new to this group and im desperately needing to lose my baby weight i had my lil girl madison in august and im needing to lose at least 30lbs maybe even 40.My biggest vice is sweets i have basically stayed away from candy and i just recently switched to diet coke cause i am a soda freak and i probably wont ever be able to not drink it.But anyways i am on a medication that makes me crave sweets and im currently being taken off of it but its a slow process. The one thing in the sweet department that i havent let go of is ice cream i have cut down to one plastic cup a day i was eating like 3or 4 bowls instead of eating anything else talk about unhealthy.Idont know it was just the only thing i wanted. So im on my way but i need some help along the way.Iam just getting back into power walking and im going to purchase some 5lb weights to do some excercises with my bf.Ok well i look forward to talking with all of you and leaning on you when im having a really bad self day..Thanks for listening..Jodi |

Yeah for you for knowing where you can make some changes and then doing it!
There's been some debate about diet soda and whether it might actually encourage the body to keep the weight on. The best thing to drink is water, healthy teas, and low-fat milk.
That being said, I recently lost 24 lbs. drinking about 80 oz. water and 36 oz. of Caffeine-free Diet Sam's Cola each day. I lost it by strictly adhering to a reduced calorie diet, making sure what I did eat was healthy, and increasing my activity a little. Even while I was restricting my calories, I still managed to work in 1 cup of ice cream with 2 Tbsp of chocolate syrup on it each day. |

Jodie I am very happy that you are figuring out where you need to fix the kinks. It is very hard for a lot of us to come clean on what our secret cravings are. I would recommend for you if you like it is to eat frozen yogurt. Also I know they sell low fat ice cream. For all other sweets try using something else in its place. Frozen fruit. Chocolate moose instead og candy bars or ice cream. I think that your power walking and the weights will help out a lot. I am not sure if you have cable, but I have comcast and I know that on there tehy offer excercise programs so you never have to leave the house to do it. I am going to start using that again as well as I ust purchased a sauna suit so that I can sweat more. Losing water weight is very important for women since we retain more water then men. Also don't be discouraged as you work out with your bf if he loses weight faster then you that is normal and aggravating, but you will lose weight as long as you keep at it. Good luck and keep us posted. |
