My 6 month old refuses to take a decent nap during the day for me. She will take a 3 hour nap for my mom, and she sleeps like that at daycare too, but with me during the days she will wake up at 630, take a 30 min nap at around 9 then up till about 1 then another 30 min nap, by this point she's pretty crabby at me but still won't take a very long nap. Finally at bout 4 or 430 she will take about a 2 hour nap, so she's awake at 630 and 730 is bath time. How can i get her to take longer naps during the day??? She does sleep all night, usually. Could it be that her room is too bright during the day for her to sleep? Help! |

Amanda I would try to make her room darker. I know they sell roman shades which help out a lot. She may also be kind of hungry when she is going down at those times. How much and what is she eating? I know I use to have my daughter on a schedule up until she turned 1 that she had a cup before every nap. I would give her a cup of formula/breastmilk and 30 minutes later I would put her to bed. It worked for me, so its worth a shot if your not already doing that. |

I am wondering if she isn't napping for you because she misses you. I know it sounds crazy but my son went through a phase where he would sleep for everyone but me. I started a special routine for us, we sing songs and read some books before his nap. Then I let him lay with me for awhile cuddling until he falls asleep. I hope some of my suggestions help you. Good luck. |

I usually do give her a bottle right before nap time, but today for some reason she wasn't hungry at all. She refused her bottle atleast 4 times, which she never does, and she wanted nothing to do with her oatmeal and pears, which is usually her favorite food. I did put up something to help block the light, but i'm worried that she will only ever be able to sleep when it's dark, but it's worth a shot. When i am home with her we do have special momma baby time, i spend every minute i have with her, we usually do try and take naps together. I have a king size bed so she's on one side and i'm on the other. Who knows maybe it's just a phase and she's trying to figure stuff out. |
