My son is 7mths old and I have been back to work for 4mths. I still hate it. Since I have been back to work I have been incredibly emtotional and unhappy with the situation. My husband supports me in staying home but, I am scared of giving up my income because you just never know. Our plan was I would continue to work with our first child and quit after our second. Anybody out there feeling the same way? How are you coping? I feel like I am alone. |

I totally understand where you are coming from and you are not alone!! I am not in the position to stay at home, my husband just does not make enough to cover. We are in the process of looking for a home with a less expensive mortgage but the market is not looking good and it is tough because I don't want to raise my child in a dump or in a rough neighborhood! I cope by calling to check on my baby throughout the day and spending quality time with her when I get home. I have lots of pictures with her at work so I can see her beautiful, smiling face! Hang in there! You are still a GREAT mom!!!! |

I am looking for a job! I graduated right before I had my baby and now I need to go back to work. At first I thought it would be easy- give me a chance to get out of the house- but now that I am interviewing day cares and such I am really anxious. I don't want to leave my daughter. |

You will be fine...hang in there! It does get a little better as time moves on. It just makes that smile that they give you when you go pick them up even more enjoyable!!! |

I am a working mom of a 9 month old. Returned to work when my son was 3 months old. It was very hard. I worked in NYC and lived in NJ, so I added almost 3 hours a day in commuting when I could have been with him. For the first 3 months I was back, I was able to work from home one day, but it was still really hard. I finally quit my job and found one closer that allows me more time with him, and luckily, he's got a great daycare. Quitting entirely just wasn't an option for me, but this solution is working for me. For you - is your employer able to give you flex time - work from home time, anything? If you've got a good track record with the company, you might be able to work something out. However, if you feel that you need to stay home, then stay home and somehow it will all work out. |

I know what you mean Kimberly. I defintely dont enjoy being away from my little guy. Yet, I am also afraid to give up a job that I do enjoy and also the income. Is there anyway you can work part time? I have been thinking about this as an option. Maybe its your job that is making you most unhappy? Well, at any case, you are not alone! |
