I jsut heard that there was another school shooting. This school is in Cleavland Ohio. The shooter was a 14 yr old boy. Reports are that he has been shot, but they can't confirm that yet. He was said to have come into the school with two gun's - one in each hand and began firing shots. Sad! |

As far as the homeschooling decision for my son, the straw that broke the camel's back was when my 13yo son came to me and said he was taking his knives to school to protect himself. I said, "No, you aren't" and he broke down crying about the way he was being treated and threatened at school.
I had just finished reading James Dobson's book on Bringing Up Boys. In there was a chapter that explained what happens in young men's minds that lead to these terrible shootings - and my son was on the path to destruction.
The next morning I drove him to school, unenrolled him and began homeschooling.
Daniel still resents that group of kids and when he sees one or more of them in town he becomes very tense, and then talks about that person used to treat him for the rest of the day.
My own son could've been a shooter. How upsetting is that! |

Kelly,
If only other parents were as diligent and couragious as you are then we wouldn't have these problems.
