Cheap Formula?
Hi Guys,

Because of medication I'm on, I can't breastfeed, so I'm solely formula feeding....formula is so expensive, so I was just wondering if anyone knew of the cheapest place(s) to buy formula? I've tried Sam's Club, but my son is on Enfamil Prosobee Lipil, and they only had the regular Enfamil Lipil. I get tons of coupons for Enfamil Lipil, but the ones I get can't be used for Prosobee. Anybody got any good ideas??

Hi Mandy,
I had always gotten mine at Target (similac isomil), it was a lot cheaper then the super market. I did notice last month that the price had gone up like $2.00. I think the powder is a little cheaper.

You can register on Enfamil.com and they send you checks in the mail every once in a while, I dont know if you can use with prosobee?

I understand i had to solely use formula also because of medicine i was on. I just got mine from wal-mart. It was tough for a short while when she was one i cant remember the name now but it was the most expensive . I think it started with a n. And i think it was put out by enfamil.I dont have any suggestionsjust look on the enfamil site.

Hey Mandy,
You should try ebay. Search Enfamil Prosobee Lipil formula under the baby category. People usually have cases of sealed formula or a lot of several cans. You can bid or a lot of times there will be a "buy it now" selection. Don't bid on anything right away though, that only raises the price. Watch the item until just before the auction ends and then bid. The formula is always brand new and they will tell you the expiration dates. If you don't want to do the ebay thing, Walmart has the cheapest prices.

My son is on enfamil lipil with iron and the cheapest place I have found is meijers, walmart it is 3 dollars more and at target it is 6 dollars more, I am not sure about that type. Hope that helps.

Hi mandy,
I had my daughter on one of those Rx Enfamil formulas for the first few months, and i know how expensive it can get. Is the prosobee the only one he can tolerate?? Is he on powder or ready to feed? Enfamil itself is really really expensive and it doesn't really matter where you get it. Have you thought of trying a different brand that is also soy but slightly cheaper? We had to switch katie because she started having an alergic reaction to her formula and we switched to nestle goodstart, and she does fantastic on it. Nestle also has a soy product and it's only 25.92 for a 32 oz powder can, where as powder in enfamil only comes in 25 oz cans and it's about 26.00. Hope this helps

I buy all of my son's formula and diapers on 1-800diapers.com. They have free shipping for orders over $50 and it's usually a little bit cheaper than target.

Hey Mandy,
I replied to you before, but that was before I realized that Parent's Choice (Generic brand only at Walmart) has a generic formula for your Enfamil Prosobee Lipil. I know that you may be skeptical, believe me so was I, but please try it. My son has been on the Parent's Choice generic for Enfamil Lipil since he was 1 month and he loves it. I tried Similac, Nestle Goodstart Supreme and Enfamil first, but Parent's Choice is the best for him, he never gets belly aches from gas any more and very rarely spits up. The second best part is that it is more than 50% cheaper than Enfamil. Try it-I don't think you'll be disappointed, the ingredients, even the DHA and ARA are exactly the same.

One other thing you can look into is WIC. I don't know your finacial situation, but if you qualify you can get up to I think 6 cans of formula a month for free. They give you vouchers to use at the store. When he starts to eat real food they also give you coupons for free foods like eggs, cheese, milk and fruits and vegies. Good luck!
