Introductions
I hope everyone can take a second and introduce themselves. I know a couple of us already have. Just let us know how many kids and their ages, a litttle about yourself and what you hope to get from this group. Thanks.

Welcome Tammy.
I hope the same thing. Do you work outside the home? I was just wondering what time of day would be the best to meet up. I look forward to meeting you.

Hi,
I am expecting my first child (a girl) at the end of November. I'm working at Pitt now, but plan on staying home with the baby once she is born. Starting March or April I will be starting an in-home childcare. Probably just looking for 3 kids to watch.

I'm also hoping to meet some other moms to be friends with. Maybe some with babies my daughter's age!

Jenny,

I know we already spoke of this but we are due with a boy on November 28th. I actually found out today that I will be having him on November 20th, right before Thanksgiving, with a scheduled c-section. Yay!

Congrats, Lisa! I wish I could say exactly when my little girl would arrive. I'm going the crazy route and trying to do the whole thing naturally.
How did your meet-up go? Planning another soon?

Plans fell through. Does anyone want to get together next week some time? I am right now staying about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh and know pretty much nothing. Any ideas?

lisa,

Do you live anywhere around Natrona Heights? Just wondering...i live near there.
posted by Tammy on 09/27/2007 12:45 AM

I am thinking I don't live around there since I have never heard of Natrona Heights. HA! I live in the middle of no where in the country by some cows. But since within the next 3 months we plan on living much closer to the city (my hubby and I are very much city people) I would really rather get together in Pittsburgh or wherever is conveinient so I can learn about it before we are there.

Yes...so far I like it...today I became Parent Representative of the Early Childhood Education Pre-K Program at my son's school...this is their second year having this program at this school and nobody wants to participate on it...some parents don't have the knowledge or care of how important is this programs in the education of our kids..but lets see what I can do..I will try my best...its my first time on it...I will have to attend Policy Council, State, Regional and National Meetings plus community and locals...Wish me Luck...

Why don't we all try to get together for coffee or something next week? My schedule next week is pretty crowded (as always right now) but I'd love to try! I'm free on Tuesday, Thursday before 12, and Friday. Thursday or Friday would be better.

We could try meeting someplace central. Are there any places downtown? I know there are a few coffee shops on the South Side. Does anyone know someplace kid-friendly for those of you who's kids are less "contained" than mine at the moment?

I'm in. I don't have nothing so far for any of those days. I drop my son at school at 8:15 and have until 2:00 free...I live at the Southside but really don't know about which one is good...I know there's a Panera at Oakland near Magee Hospital...but any place convenient for all of you is fine with me...

Hi my name is Annie. I'm almost 25, and have two little boys ages 18 months and 4 months old. I live in the airport area of Pittsburgh and would love to meet a few younger moms (and older moms who won't judge me on my age) for playdates. I've been happily married a little over 2 years now.
