Hi,
Did you have this through the whole pregnancy? My sister had what is called Hyperemesis Gravidarum, and she had to take meds for it. She would also eat smaller meals more often during the day and had help from family and friends. I have also been told (by a lot of moms) that each pregnancy is different, so you may get lucky and not be sick at all.

Well hello!
I was feelining lonely out there...hehe... I am pregnant with #2 and I will be chasing a 18month old when number two arrives. Anyway...I had horrible sickness this time around, never compared to my first pregnancy. However, something that helped was smaller meals...and crackers at hand every 10 min or so. Hope this helps, thanks God I am getting out of the nauseas by now.

I had terrible morning sickness and was bed ridden for 7 weeks. What helped me better control the morning sickness was always eating. Even if I had no desire to eat, I forced myself to eat. Most of the times it helped.

Best of luck to you, Laura!

I would chew gum, or suck on mints. If I always had something in my mouth I was ok.

I always said that I wanted my children to be close in age. And after my son I was sooooo happy that didn't really think about a second, besides with work, home, being a wife and a mother I was having plenty of work. Without time to plan it or think of the sickness or anything like that; I got pregnant. Was I scared when I found out? Very!
The truth is that I am loving it...I am very happy to think that my son will have a brother or sister to share and play and be as close together as my sister and I. I think it will be a lot of work for me at the beginning but it will all be easier as they grow older together, and very worth it!
I have so many pro's for them to be close in age, I could take the entire page to list them...lol. Besides if you are one of the lucky ones SAHM, go for it!
Good Luck and God Bless!

Laura,

I had really horrible nausea/vomiting for about the first five months of pregnancy, and I'm a teacher, so that was really challenging. I kept having to leave my classroom to puke, and while my students were really patient, it got old REALLY fast. I had my secretary do some research and we read somewhere that keeping a lemon around and smelling it when you really feel nauseous stops the gag reflex. I don't know if it works for everyone, but I kept a lemon in my sweater pocket (dorky, I realize) and zested the skin so the scent was strong..and then everytime I thought was going to puke, I'd pull it out and smell it, and it totally made it go away!

Like I said, I don't know if it works for everyone, but you might try it! And remember, the time of nausea is SO small in comparison to the years you'll have to cherish your 2nd little one - best of luck!!

I heard about the lemon. Yes it did help me. I also was told that drinking lemonade helps but did not work for me.

When you experience nausea, it means your blood sugar is low, so try eating something. What helped me tremendously was sucking on something like a popsicle. It's something they sell and you freeze it. It is in a long wrapper with different fruit flavor. A smash hit with kids. I never finished an entire wrap but helped stop the vomiting. I can't remember the name of the product...sorry.

Hi Kathy
was it just a regular ice pop they sell in the freezer dept. or was it a particular one (flavor) THXS

They don't sell it in the freezer section. I think my husband got it for me from either CVS or Target. They don't come pre-frozen. You have to put them in the freezer. I'll do some more research and get back to you. James is getting pist and I need to get him. :)
