I thought that since you all have toddlers, you might be able to give me some advice! My daughter is almost eight months old and has been exclusively breastfed since she was born (I could never get her to take a bottle). She eats three meals a day but breastfeeds at 10 am (when she takes her am nap) 1pm (when she takes her afternoon nap) and 7:30 pm (before she goes down for the night). I am thinking about beginning to wean her off the breast but have no idea how to go about it. I am worried especially because right now she uses breastfeeding as a comfort when going to sleep or taking a nap. She won't take a pacifier so I don't really have another method to comfort her. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks so much!
My friend had the same problem. She just had to find that "right" nipple on a bottle. She finally was successful with a bottle that resembles a breast and that did it. I think it's the nipple part that is most important. It took he a while to find that perfect bottle but she did. So I guess I would try to fill it with breast milk and gradually change to formula. Hope this helps!
