I have been breastfeeding (exclusively pumping) now for 9 months and have lost a considerable amount of weight!! :) My question is this: When you stop breastfeeding/pumping do you gain weight back? |

You know...I think I have the answer to that question. My daughter is almost 15 months and I am still nursing her part time(in the morning before work, after work and at night). I used to pump 3 times a day while at work, nurse her at home and then pump before bedtime and I lost a lot of weight fast. Now that I only nurse her part time, i have gained alot of weight back. Now, I am not sure if other factors have contibuted to the weight loss, but I can for sure tell you that since I came back to work and stopped pumping in July of this year, I have gained alot of weight. Hope this helps and good luck! |

I am glad to hear someone else is still breastfeeding into toddlerhood. My daughter is now 19 months and we are doing the same as you, maybe even a little less. I have not gained weight back, but I am more inclined to loose weight than gain anyway so it may depend on your body. |

I pumped for 6 months (my son wouldn't nurse) and lost all my baby weight fast. When I stopped I didn't gain any weight back. However, I also quit eating as many calories throughout the day. I went back to about the same as I ate pre-pregnancy and my weight has maintained. |

I couldn't pump, drove me nuts, took way too long, that and my pump broke the thrid time I used it. Lost all baby weight when my son was six months. Stopped breastfeeding one week before he turned six months. Have not gained any of the weight back. |
