Sleep issues
My baby has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 weeks old. Suddenly when he turned 9 months he would not stay asleep or go to sleep. Our pediatrician, bless his heart, such a kind man, told us about the book by Dr. Ferber. We have been doing this method. He still has trouble some nights.
He doesn't wake up anymore ,but he does have trouble getting to sleep. He is attached to a stuffed rabbit that looks like a marshmallow peep. Could it be allergies to food?Sleep terrors?

More than likely, it is something as simple as teething or a growth spurt. Both of my girls went through the same thing around 9 months and then teeth started showing up around 10 months. My 2 year old still wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes. It may never stop. ;^)

It may also be he is learning something new. I know my son would wake up several times a night when he was learning to cruise. He would stand up in the crib but then wouldn't be able to get himself back down. Has your son started learning something new, (cruising, walking)? Also, I agree with the other response that it may just be teething which usually bothers most babies at night. I wish I could suggest with faith Baby Orajel or something like it but that never worked for my son. You just have to ride it out!

Good Luck!!!

Lucky! My 11 month old boy still doesn't sleep through the night. Our pediatritian said we could have him cry himself to sleep, but my husband and I, and Max, and our cat, share a one-bedroom apartment in NYC. Crying it out isn't an option considering our neighbors. I think you're doing just fine...marshmallow peep and all ! Just think of all the changes he's experiencing with learning his own body dynamics- first sitting up and next standing up and then walking. So much excitement for a little mind to process. My best to you, Ash

My son started sleeping thru the night very early also but, then we fell on some sleepless nights. Don't worry my doctor said this happens. We did the Ferber method and it worked but, every time my son gets a cold or he is teething we go back to square one. Relax and just go with it. Make sure you are getting your rest when you can.

Thank you for all the ideas and support. We have found that it is his teeth. He always runs a slight temperature and has a hard time getting to sleep. He also gets ear infections easily.
