Maybe the pump you use is not adapted to you. From what the nurse where telling me at the hospital "Medela" was supposed to be the best and you can regulate the intensity, if you want a manual "Avent" was the one reccomended.
Good luck!

Hi Rebecca,

THis happens to me sometimes also but it fades and only happens when I pump.

It seems to happen when I have let too much time pass and have become engorged. I try to pump every two hours if I can't breast feed.

If it hurts you often and is intense, maybe your obgyn can suggest something.
Hope you feel better. I know how difficult breastfeeding can be.
