Re: Potty Training
Well yesterday I was giving the girls a bath and Megan stood up and put her had down to hold her private area. I asked her if she needed to go pee-pee and she said yes so I took her out of the bath tub and placed her on the potty. She actually went pee-pee in the potty and I was very excited about it but me being happy that she used the potty just made her mad. She has gotten to the point where she can take off her diaper by herself and she will go around the house without a diaper for short periods of time and she never has an accident. I think that she understands the concept of using the potty and I think that she can control her bladder enough to use the potty. She is just dead set against doing it. It is almost funny how she didn't like the idea of having to use the potty during bath time but knew she didn't have a diaper on so she let me put her on the potty and then she got so mad because she went and I was so excited. It is just so her. I have thought about the next time I go to the store to buy diapers and telling her that those are the last diapers that we are getting but I think things could get ugly and I don't know if I will stick with it. Also, I really don't want to traumatize her and I don't plan on pushing her in an unhealthy way but knowing her and how long she will do things her own way if you let her I think that something besides encouragement (which is not working) is eventually going to be required.
