I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. My older daughter was very easy to potty train. I started putting her on the toilet when she was 10 months. Everyone told me I was nuts, but it got her used to the idea. I didn't push her or become angry if she didn't go but we would make a big deal if she did. My 1 year old doesn't like to go on the toilet. She will happily sit there, but won't go. I was told by the pediatrician that using pull ups doesn't work because they are more of a glorified daiper. At Babies r Us they have plastic underwear covers and separate thick underwear. They also have some that are sewn together. These let the child feel the wetness so they are uncomfortable and learn the feeling of having to go. That's (I'm guessing) why babies that wear cloth daipers train easier than babies with disposables (I used disposable so I don't know). Bottom line is: you don't see any kindergarteners with daipers, so don't worry. It will happen.
Don't worry about it. Its almost like when we give up, they get it! My mom also said she would put us on the toilet every hour for about 5 minutes. Thats what worked for her and all of her daycare kids.
