rolling onto belly in crib
My daughter is 4 months old and rolled onto her belly in the crib but couldn't roll back onto her back. I am worried that she will suffocate on her receiving blanket (she sometimes gets tangled up in it). We don't really want to put the sleep positioner back in the crib because she seems to sleep better without it (she can spread out and relax). Does anyone have any advice on how I can work with her to get her to completely roll over. My husband and I have tried tummy time but she seems to hate it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

My pediatrician assured me that it is fine to let her stay on her stomach if she rolls over. Take blankets and bumpers out of the crib to decrease the risk of suffocation. I used a sleep sack for my son so he would be warm enough.

As for tummy time, it is important and the only way for her to learn to roll from her belly to her back. Try getting down with her or putting toys she likes within reach. Just 5 minutes at a time, 2 or 3 times a day and she'll be rolling in no time!

It will take time for her to develop the muscles it takes to roll from her belly to her back. Just play with her on the floor or the bed. I used to put katie on the bed and put her on her tummy and when she'd get mad at me i'd roll her to her back. She started trying to do it herself in about a week.

my son was about that age when started wanting to sleep on his stomach...we would try to roll him back over if he feel asleep but he didn't like it...our ped. sayed it was okay to let allow him to sleep on his stomach if he prefered but just like stated my others take everything out that would be hazards...my son also hated tummy time...he seemed to enjoy it alittle more with my husband, so he would do it with him...we would put toys down thart he liked and play with him...hope this helpful...

I agree with everyone else, just remove all possibilities that could cause suffocation. Keep at tummy time, she will learn. Also there is a monitar called angelcare movement sensor that detects all movementin the crib. If there is no movement for 20 seconds the alarm will go off. Target carries them for $75.
