Hi everyone,
I just came along the article about plastic baby bottles as Avent, Evenflo, Mr. Brown, etc.... Here is a link of article: http://www.environmentcalifornia.org/reports/environmental-health/environmental-health-reports/toxic-baby-bottles
Please, through them away and replace with glass baby bottles. I already ordered too. You can find them on internet, just google for glass baby bottles and there is some choice.

Hey Adriana, I mean absolutely no disrespect, but if you do some research you can find that these "harmful" chemicals are in many plastic products. Will you stop using plastic toys, teethers, and sippy cups too? There is at least one article out there claiming harmfulness for every baby product that we need/use on a daily basis. Just make sure to always follow your doctor's advice and do what you think is best, try not to pay too much attention to the remainder of contraban. If you are happy with your choice to switch to glass, great for you. I'm sticking with Avent. |

hey Amy,
it is everyone's choice what kind of bottles you will use....but we should be more concern about our baby's health and that's what I wanted to share with another moms. Yes, you are right, there is a lot " harmful" things out there, but we should at least try to avoid some of them. Do you heat up your toy's and teether's ?? That is a significant difference. |

Hey again, First of all, I was in no way trying to anger you, but merely trying to point out that if you reacted to all the articles of this category to such extreme, then you wouldn't be able to use any baby products at all. Google and just read a few of the articles that come up- it is really mind boggling. You also have to consider how controlled the studies that were listed in the bottle article really were - it just seems a little rediculous that they believed they could trace such diseases as cancer and obesity back to being fed from a plastic bottle. Again, nothing personal to you, I'm sure we are equally concerned about the health and well being of our sons (whom are both named Gabriel and close to the same age). Good luck. |

I think that we are all trying to be careful and give our kids the best, and keep them healthy. but like you said Amy if we believe everything we read we would go crazy and there would be nothing safe that we can use on our children. I never heated up my baby bottle, she always drank formula at room temperature bottled water and now that she is drinking regular milk she drinks it cold right out of the fridge, so just be carful and never warm the bottles in the microwave, that is what effect the plastic and the chemicals, I think. |

It's actually recommended to avoid heating your baby's bottles anyway, just because when you heat the formula/breast milk, important nutrients are lost. Just like when you cook vegetables, etc...
Plus, one of the most helpful hints friends ever gave me was to avoid warming the bottle more than to room temp so that when we go out and about, he wouldn't become fussy about the temperature of his bottle. And instead of warming the milk/formula in the microwave, I always filled a coffee mug with HOT water and put the bottle in that to warm. Worked like a charm! |

I have never heated my son's bottles because of the fact that it removes nutrients, isn't necessary and I didn't want him to need his bottle to be warmed when we were on the run. By the way, formula smells a lot worse when it is heated. Also, I think my son is a lot happier that I don't have to take the extra time to warm the bottle when he thinks that he is starving. |
