The kitten died :-(
The kitten Rachel (11) was so looking forward to getting died a few days ago; so now she wants a bunny to go with the one I bought for Daniel last week! Another $150.00! Well, maybe not that much, because they could share litter, food and hay for a week or two.

But anyway - she tried to talk me into a ferrets, - NO; she tried to talk me into TWO ferrets ("They won't get in as much trouble if they have each other!") - and NO! A horse - give me a break, NO. A puppy ("I'll get a small one like you want, a chihuahua or shitzu or something.") - NO.

"What about one of those dwarf gerbils?" (They are actually blueberry hamsters) Now were talking about something I can consider, but upon learning that she couldn't get them out and play with them she asked for a bunny - I said I'd talk to her daddy.

Our main concern is that she is not mature enough to care for it properly, but her friend Shane has had critters in cages for years and he's only a year older than she.

So we are probably getting another bunny.

I have a friend who has ahd a pet rabbit for several years. It's litter trained and everything. I vote for the rabbit.

I promised my son Ben (10 tomorrow) that he can have another dog when we move to a house with more property. Well, we bought a house with a big piece of property over a year ago. So for his birthday tomorrow we bought him a puppy. But, he proved to us he will take care of him by taking care of our other dog everyday. So age doesnt matter, at 10, he is much more mature then our 15 year old.

That's very true that the age of the child doesn't determine maturity. Rachel about to get mature enough, but I'm not sure how quickly she'll get there. I guess if she can't do it, Daniel will have two bunnies (which we are getting fixed so we don't have MORE bunnies)! ;-)
