YES YES YES YES YES

call your doc if you think the baby blues are getting worse and you think you may have PPD

for me it was the best thing I ever did ... I did not say anything till my girls were 11m old but I know I had it from the time they were maybe 2wks (at least the baby blues)

good luck

Absolutely normal and no you are not a bad mother. Keep family and friends close and dont be afraid to ask for help. Do see a Dr though, it can be helpful.

Good luck

This is very normal. You are not a failure!! It's not mental, it's physical. It is a chemical imbalance in your body that is causing you to have the blues. My daughter is 17 months old and about a month ago I finally admitted to my doctor that I thought I had PPD. She put me on an anti-depressant. It hasn't been long enough to take full effect, but I already feel better knowing that I'm not alone with this anymore. You should talk to your doctor.

VERY VERY common. Talk to your doctor. There are ways to make you feel better. Don't suffer if you don't have too. Nothing to be ashamed of. Trust me!!!

I waited until my son was about 10 weeks before I finally got help, and I wish I would have done it sooner. I was embarassed to say I thought I had PPD. You always see the happy mother with new baby scene on tv, and when you are sad, and can't figure out why. You start to blame yourself. There is no need to suffer. Talk to your doctor, and you will feel so much better. I am so glad that I did, I wish I would have done it sooner.

Oh honey PPD is very common. I have it! My daughter is almost 5 months old now and i've been on anti-depressants since she was 7 weeks. Does it run in your family? My mother, maternal grandmother, and aunt all had PPD. It's very treatable with the right kind of anti-depressant. I started crying the 2nd day we brought my little katie home, and it just got worse from there. To make things worse my husband worked 70 hours a week so i was basically doing the single parent thing. You are a normal mother and you should feel better about yourself because you are recognizing the symptoms early!!! I wish you the best. If you have any questions e-mail me

VERY normal, please do not feel like a failure. My daughter is 5 months old and I had the "baby blues" terrible from the day I got home with her until she was 4 weeks old, which is about when she started sleeping a little more during the night. I found that talking to others who had gone through the same type of thing was helpful and also getting out of the house for walks with the baby helped. I would definitely talk to a doctor though.

It is sooooo common, but can go away very quickly if you are proactive. Extra B-6 and B-12 vitamins can help as well as a high quality purified fish oil and even 5-HTP caplets, if you want to go the natural route. But of course, first check with your doctor before using these. An extra 1/2 hour to 1 hour of sunlight a day during brisk walking is also crucial. Support groups can help tons.
