connecting with others
Hi,

I'm so glad to see a group for older parents. It's been hard for us with mommy working and daddy staying at home. All the friends in our age group have teens or no kids at all. It's hard when you imagine that your baby is missin out on being with kids his own age. Finding a group in your area is even harder. I hope something good comes of this. Thanks for this group.

Thanks for your feedback, Mark. By the way you are my husbands idol. He so wants to be a stay at home dad, but at this time it just isn't possible.

We really understand you problem of finding a play group for your son (who is really cute), because we are running into the same situation. Hopefully this group will soon catch on to others in our local area and resolve this issue.

But in the meantime I thought we could use the group for support, stattegies on parenting, stories about our little miracles (childrne), etc. Do you have any suggestions or ideas?

The only thing my wife and I have found is the local library. They conduct an infant sing-along/playtime for infants to 18 months. It's only 30-40 minutes long. Which is just enough to keep them entertained without getting bored and too fussy. After singing some interactive songs, they bring out some toys and let the kids 'have at it' so to speak. It's been fun. We've only been a couple times, but Devin enjoyed it. And it made me feel pretty good to see him playing alongside some others his age. I say hooray for the library. Plus the cost is great at....NOTHING.
