I was just wondering when everyone decided it was time to put the baby in their own room and crib?? I'm having a hard time seperating us, I just love her being in the room with us. |

Hi kelly, I started my daughter in her crib so i wouldn't have this problem, but i understand. I constantly felt the need to always go in and check on her, and i would sometimes sleep in her room with her. My suggestion would be to put her in the crib in her own room when you think both of you are ready. This will create less seperation anxiety for both of you. |

I moved our son to his own room and crib at around six weeks. The decision was prompted by a difficult time getting him to sleep one night, only to wake him right back up by getting into our bed. We used a monitor to make sure I could hear him breathing, etc. But we got better rest (and some needed alone time) and he did too. I continued to use a sleep positioner (the Deluxe Snuggle Nest by Baby Delight) for awhile in his crib since I used that in the bassinet in our room too. He started sleeping through the night fairly regularly once he was in his own room too, so that was another benefit. Hope that helps. But in the end, if you like having her in with you, and everyone is getting good sleep, then why change it? The only thing that might get difficult is when she gets older and can actually realize you are moving her somewhere else, that might cause problems if she's used to being in your room. The younger she is when you move her the easier to adapt I would think. Good luck! |

Thank you for all of your suggestions!! She does sleep in her own "pack and play" in our room not in our bed. We both just like having her in there...I guess like everyone says when were ready we will know!!! |

I moved my son over to his own room / crib at 3 months. Mostly because my older sister has a little one (who is 7 months older then my son) and she did not put him in his own room / crib. So when mine was 3m hers was 10m and still in their room. He is now 18 months and is still sleeping in their room - they are trying now to get him in his own room, but it just isn't happening. I'm sure you've heard it before, but you may have this problem in the future....good luck! |

I started by moving my son to the crib for naps at around 3 months. And then at 4 months I put him in there at night also. It was hard for me, you get so used to having them right there. But I found I slept better actually. |

We started at 6 weeks...our son wasn't sleeping well at all in his bassinet so we tried putting him in a swing in his room. it worked wonders plus started to get him acclimated to his own room. we are now using the crib, but started off with just naps and then moved to night time. my husband and i try to do most of his "bed time" routine in his room at night so he knows that it's a good place to be and he starts to recongize it's the place to go to sleep. |
