Not sleeping in his bed
My boy is 24 months and was sleping on his own till a week ago, and now he just will not stay in his crib. He cries uncontrolably and hits anyting like a fit just to get him out of the crib. I have heard of letting him cry but he cries so loud and gets out of control that I fear that he can or is hurting him self by letting him cry so much. I have not had a good night sleep in 10 days and dont know what I could do to make him go back to sleeping on his own. I dont know if he is growing and having pains.

My son turned 2 in June and we went through this phase when he was about 16 months old. We finally figured out that he had outgrown his crib and needed a big boy bed. The first night we had him in a big bed he slept and has been sleeping ever since.

Yes he has been ending up in our bed and today we went for a long walk and then a long bath and I hope he will stay in him bed. the problem is that we got him used to falling asleep in our bed and then my hisband moves him to the crib. I will never do that again. I am going to try to have him fall asleep in his crib I just think it may be too late for that. I may try the big boy bed and see if that works too. He is very tall so he may be too big for his crib if he is moving around allot. Thank you!

i agree with nicole. he's probably ready for a big boy bed. i had friends whose son acted the same way until they put him in a toddler bed and then he slept, well, like a baby. good luck!

Hey Liz, I had my son in a regular bed at about 18 months because he learned how to get out of the crib. I figured it was safer for him to be in a bed he could easily and safely get in and out of versus the crib that he was climbing out of. I did not and do not have a toddler bed, so I used a regular mattress on the floor at first. I had it up against the corner of the walls so that the top and side were "enclosed" and I put the crib mattress on the floor next to the bed on the open side...that lasted a couple months until I was confident he wouldnt fall out. today my son is 3, or will be in 8 more days!! and he is in a full sized twin bed-still without the frame, but at least up on the box springs. Your little guy may just be quite ready for that leap into a more comfy bed that he can have that freedom to get in and out of..look out, keeping him in it is the next issue to tackle haha. Good Luck!

i agree with the others it may be time for a big boy bed.Even then it may take a little time to get him to stay in the bed but hopefully not. I am dredding and looking forward to my daughter getting in her big girl bed. She is almost 20 months and is still in her crib. She has never tried to get out and sleeps great so i am leaving her in as long as possible.lol
