I just noticed my son has green poop today. He is not breastfed and was curious if it could be an iron issue or other. I'm planning to call his pedi office tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. |

Well before I can give you much insight into this issue, my question for you would be how old is he and what types of foods does he eat? My daughter sometimes has green poop from certain foods and certain drinks that she has such as grape koolaid. Hope this helps. |

He is almost 8 months and drinks formula and baby food. His diet consist of 1 jar of oatmeal, variety of veggies, stage 3 meats w/veg, and fruits and about 20-25 oz formula. Sometime I give him juice when he is constipated. |

If your son is 8 months and this is the first time he has ever had green poop then that is amazing! My son is 7 weeks and had green poop the entire time that he drank goodstart supreme formula. I switched him to enfamil lipil and now his poop (never talked about poop so much until becoming a mom)is a nice yellow. If your baby eats green veggies then that is the culprit. Also...I would never worry about calling the Dr. over poop unless it has blood in it, it's excessive dhiarrhea, or the baby is constipated. |
