My son will be starting First grade on the 5th! I am very excited. He needs this away time from us. He is very excited~

That's exciting! A little scary too. I think sometimes it is harder on the parents to let go a little than it is on the kids. My kids started school yesterday - one in 3rd and the other in 4th grade. School is only two blocks away and they only have to cross one road (which is guarded) so I let them walk today by themselves for the first time!! I hope they don't have any issues. My son - I don't worry so much about because he has a good head on his shoulders and good common sense. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my daughter, who has ADD and has a lot of trouble following basic rules. I'm sure they will be fine but it is still hard to take the next step towards full independence. Liz
