Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my 13 month old son to eat meat? |

I cook ground beef or ground turkey and put it in with their spaghetti. Also pork tenderloin cut up small is a big hit. Meatloaf is always eaten and you can put zucchini in that. Good luck! |

Michelle, I have never had a problem with my kids, but I have had some other parents ask me that same question. I say always offer him some on a plate with whatever his meal is. If you are having dinner give him what he likes and some meat on the side. My daughter always ate lunch meat, like ham or turkey, try some of that or roast beef is a good one too. Or I know it is bad but if tell him to take a few bits of meat you will give a treat like ice cream or something that he likes, but he does not get it until he eats what you want him to!! |

My daughter hated eating meat for the longest time. And one day my Mother in law gave her some chicken that was poached and she loved it! So I think that the texture has something to do with it for some kids. |

Hello- Kind of new here, but read this and thought of my son. I was worried about it and my pediatrician told me not to worry at all. She said to keep offering it to him, but she said it was very common and that it is the texture that turns kids off. My son eats hot dogs and ham....that's all for the meat department. I try to offer him other things but he never wants them. Oh, by the way, he is 19 months. I try to give him fish as a substitute...which he loves. Good luck and I'm sure he will be fine. Kristne |

Don't feel too bad, my pediatrician told me that kids seem to know what they need and will eat what their body needs. I too had this problem with my now 3 year old son. I still have problems occasionally, but he always comes around. For my own added security, I started giving him the vitamins to help supplement all those meals he skips when he doesn't want to eat. I also give him a pediasure to drink when he is just completely not interested in eating a meal. This gives him the calories, hydrates and keeps him on track. GOOD LUCK and never fear |
