drinking milk from a sippy cup
My 9 month old son had an appointment at the beginning of August with his pediatrician. She told me at that time to start giving him ALL fluids in a cup, including his milk. I give him his milk in a sippy cup but he will not drink it. All he does is chew on the spout. If I give him juice in his sippy cup, however, he will drink it. He will go almost all day without drinking milk so I finally just give it to him in a bottle. I hate doing that but that is the only way he will drink it. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

first I am suprised the pedi said it like that (I agree it's a good age to introduce it)

second do not stress about it now ... he will learn

about that age I gave my girls sippies with meals and all they did was play with them or chew on them ... but once they were familiar with them it was so easy to switch

I gave them their morning bottles and a sippy to play with durning meals then an afternoon bottle (usually after lunch) a sippy at dinner and then their night bottle (one more bottle in there if they did not get enough from theri sippy play) ... before their first birth they were only getting the night bottle that I just replaced and in the end they did not care what they got their milk from just as long as they got it ... they also love straws too

so as long as you are doing an introduction and giving him the proper amout of fluids ...he will get it ... no need to stress about it

good luck
