MOTHERHOOD LATER…THAN SOONER CONNECTS THOSE WHO BECAME A MOM AT AGE 35+
Motherhoodlater.com, a Leading On and Offline Resource For Mid Life Parents, Has New San Diego County Chapter
July 2014 – MOTHERHOOD LATER…. THAN SOONER, the only on/offline resource for those who embarked on motherhood at age 35+, with chapters worldwide, has announced that Lisa Naidoo is serving as chapter head for the new San Diego County chapter.
San Diego chapter organizer, Lisa Naidoo, has recently moved to the San Diego area and is excited to be a part of this group in her quest to bring together ‘later’ moms for mutual support and friendship during our motherhood journey. Aspiring moms are also welcome to join.
Naidoo, mom to a 5 year old boy, also works full time as a Medical Librarian in a Children’s hospital. Providing critical information to caregivers who help children has been very rewarding to me. I am willing to freely share health information which I have access to and happy to provide that to other moms. I also have an interest and experience in all phases along the path to motherhood and am available to provide support in fertility issues and natural birth options.
Founder, Robin Gorman Newman, also heads the New York chapter, the largest to date with 700 members, and plans play dates, moms’ night out dinners, and weekend family outings, for group members.
Newman, mom to an 11 year old boy, works from home as an author, speaker, theatre producer and founder, lovecoach.com. “Becoming a ‘later’ mom has been exciting, all consuming, and totally life altering, particularly since I’m at a stage where I’ve been my own person for a long time, compared to a younger mom. As 35+ moms, we have more life than baby experience and have put our endeavors first, whether personal or professional. That is no longer true. But, we do potentially have more wisdom to share because of our life experience. My inspiration for launching Motherhood Later…..Than Soon grew out of a need to connect with mom peers to share the experience and help ease the life transition by providing camaraderie, resources, opportunities to share and have fun.”
The website, www.MotherhoodLater.com, features profiles of inspiring 35+ moms, and they are always on the lookout for moms to profile, and welcome submissions. The site also features News of later in life moms, a Shop, links to Motherhood Later social networking communities, and a blog by Newman and others. Other 35+ moms are invited to contribute content and may send ideas to robin@motherhoodlater.com. Experts in the parenting arena and authors are invited to write for the Baby Bloomer newsletter and blog.
