Hi, everyone. My name is Megan, and I have two children, ages 8 and 6. I had joined this group some time ago, but stepped away for a bit. I'm just feeling totally overwhelmed, and feel like I don't know where to go from here. I've been becoming progressively more stressed out, more upset about finances, more overwhelmed about how to manage everything, and less understood. I think the majority of everything I'm experiencing is primarily due to the fact that I'm miserable at work, and terrified about our financial stability. At work, I'm really not supported by co-workers. Nor is my field understood or appreciated for what it is. As far as my financial security goes, my husband thinks we're fine because we're meeting our bills. I am freaking out because we're not putting into savings, and I'm thinking about the future, primarily because of our two growing children... Tuition, clothing, basic needs, lessons or activities, any unforeseen medical expenses, etc.. I am sick of feeling sick about everything, sick of feeling so stressed out, and sick of feeling like a failure as a parent because I'm too stressed out to simply just enjoy being a mom. Has anyone else gone through moments like this? |

Hi Megan, ugg, you're definitely not alone. Literally everything you just said about your life and how you feel is going on in mine too and has been for a long time. I was so close to getting a break from it too. After 11 years (my kids are 6 and 11) we had finally set ourselves up so I could stop working for a couple of years and just be "mom" for once in my life. We were so close. But then my mom who is penniless (and who my husband can't stand) became homeless and moved in with us. And to top it off, we've now discovered she has early onset dementia at only 55 years of age. So now my husband doesn't want me to quit working until she's settled- and who knows how long that will be. So now I'm still working (way over) full time, coping with a dementia patient, trying to raise two children and stressed to heck worrying about just about everything under the sun including finances. So no, you're definitely not the only one with moments like this! HUGS. |

Hi Megan,
I am worried about my student loans. My children also have student loans. I started an extra job working at home, so I have extra money for when my student loans come due. It is called It Works. Man of the distributors that post in my facebook group have made much more than their original jobs just in their first year of selling. What I like is I have a web site and don't have to sell at parties at people's houses. They just come to my web site and order from there. This also might give you some money to help you stop worrying.
Although I have always worried about money my children have miraculously all gone through college in 4 years. Things are really working out. I still have three at home. I tell you this to help you trust that God will really find a way to help your family.
