Parents that choose to NOT vaccinate
Public online group

Question
Hi! I'm new to this group and was just reading all of your posts. It got me thinking. I never realized that vaccinations were bad for our kids. I just thought we had to do it, for school and so forth. My daughter is 7 months old and has already gotten her shots for the past checkups. Is it possible to stop them now, or would that have irreversible effects on her? She'll be attending school when she's older, do they allow kids who aren't immunized into the schools? Thanks!

Hi Shawna,
Welcome to the group. You should be able to stop the shots, but your ped may give you a hard time about it. My sister stoped her oldest sons shots until recently (he will be 5 tomorrow and starting public school). he has not had the MMR yet. The schools and dr's will always give a hard time, most states have a religous excemption, but I don't how it would work if you have already started. If you feel strongly about not continuning them don't be afraid to tell the dr's no or maybe continue them when your child is older. You can check out this site www.nvic.org, there is a lot of helpful info there.

Hi Shawna,
Jackie is right. You can stop at any time. You don't have to continue once you started. Definetly do your research and decide if NOT to vaccinate is right for you and your family. Ihave a 17 yr old starting college that wasn't vaccinated as well as two babies. I don't believe in vaccination, I believe it is harmful. Sometimes you will not have support on your decision (especially from the medical community) but I would never change my mind about this.
