Hello - I know this group has been formed for a long time without actually doing anything (we haven't had much interest, and I'm not sure how much this site is actually used), but I am now starting a Spanish Immersion Enrichment Coop in Columbus. It will be basically parents working together to plan and provide learning activities for their children in Spanish, as well as a place for kids to meet peers who speak Spanish and practice together. We are totally open to ideas, and whoever wants to help with planning activities is welcome. So far, the activities I am thinking about having would be a monthly book club, or science club or something similar for the kids, but all kinds of ideas are welcome (maybe meetings at the playground, field trips to museums, game clubs or other fun stuff as the group grows).
Right now we are gathering members on facebook, and will be putting together ideas for what kind of activities and events we want to hold. As my oldest will be entering kindergarten next year, the activities that I plan will probably be geared toward her age (although they will probably be suitable for preschool to 2nd grade or so). Other parents are welcome to plan activities geared toward older children, and as the group grows, we may have regular meetings for children of different ages. Younger siblings can play together during the older kids' activities, as well.
I think that organizing on Facebook will hopefully help us grow more than this site has. Search Facebook for "Jugar Juntos, Aprender Juntos." Please join us and please pass this information along to other Spanish-speaking parents you know who live in Columbus.
Thanks!
