Attn - NC Preemie Parents

My name is Candace and I am the proud mother of a 27 weeker (now 18 months). After nearly four months in the NICU, we are blessed to enjoy our baby at home with his 3 year old brother.

The year following his birth, we quickly learned there are not a lot of resources for therapies (traditional and alternative), if you do not qualify for Medicaid. We became very frustrated with the limits from our private insurance.

We decided to start a foundation called Bee Mighty (www.beemighty.org). This is supporting families like ours that have needs for their micro preemie that they had not originally planned for.

Right now, we are helping children born in Charlotte, NC, but plan to expand as our foundation grows.

If your family is in need or if you know of someone that could benefit from the resources or would like to get involved, please reach out to our website.

Sincere thanks.

Candace Richter
