"Attachment Parenting"

Well I guess my question really is, why are we labeing types of parenting? Isn't everyone's style a little diffrent than the rest!? what is your thoughts and what supposed style works for you?

i've never heard of parenting styles, so i don't know. if i were to say, i would say that i parent traditionally. meaning, i stay home w/ the kids, prepare most meals from scratch and not hang out w/ "friends" b/c the children come 1st. mine don't even watch t.v. b/c of the negative influence and are home schooled. not everyone can or even wants to do those things. to each is own.

I'm an attachment parent. CaveBaby is always with me, some night we co sleep,(most of the time it's when DF leaves for work Cavebaby gets up for his morning feeding so we cuddle in bed and fall back sleep) I use the moby wrap when I need to be hands free or grocrey shopping and CaveBaby likes it better being wrapped then being in the store cart. They claim it makes a stronger bond, but regardless I just like it.

I don't know if I would lable myself as anything but a devoted mommy. I'm a SAHM and housewife, and taking care of my daughter is my #1 priority.

@ Elizabeth - I also co-sleep with my daughter when my husband leaves for work and after her first diaper change. I love it! It definitley helps with bonding. I touch her face (give her "chills") and she tries to do the same to me - and she's only 6-1/2 months old!

Janet- Co-sleeping is our BEST friend when lo is teething seeing he wants  to nurse all night. (we started to cut our second bottom tooth last night) I love waking up to him, either him kicking me and laughing or his soft "aahh"s with BIG smiles! Just a nice start to the day I think :)

@Elizabeth - Don't you just LOVE those soft "aah's" when baby just wakes up!? I could listen to my daughter forever! Speeking of those "aah's" I am hearing them now. I guess nap time is over :)
