Hi everyone -

I'm a working mom of 2 girls (one 6 1/2, one 4).  My 6 1/2 was born 6 wks premature and now that she's in elementary school, we're seeing the effects of prematurity and I'm trying to figure out how to work with it, instead of using it as a lifelong crutch....

She's super smart and does well in small groups but when it comes to participation with a whole class, her teachers seem to have problems keeping her focused.  It would be an easy answer to send her to private school where she would flourish but I'm a big believer of public schools (especially of Fairfax County) and with the right tools, I think we can help her succeed.
