My due date is on May 9th, and I'm going to be a stay at home mother after the baby is born. Most of my friends are still working, and not having kids just yet. So, I am a bit worried that my baby is not going to get any social time when he's born. I would love to get to know some other parents, and their little bundle of joy in newport, Jersey City area. And hopefully, help my baby make friends, have play dates, and so on.

Jersey City is a great place to have a baby. There are tons of families in the area. You will not have a problem meeting other moms with babies. You should join Jersey City Moms Group on meetup.com. There are tons of activities posted everyday for moms and babies/kids. It is all separated by age group so you can meet moms with kids your child's age. There are also message boards with pediatrican info, babysitters, recommendations on different things and a marketplace section where people give away and sell things their kids are no longer using. Parents also post questions, i.e. how do I get my child to sleep, etc. It is a great resource.
