It takes a strong woman, willing to take a back seat and be on the giving end always to be married or in a relationship with musician or road crew. No one can truly understand how difficult it is unless you have lived in this world - it is like no other. My life's journey has been met with challenges that tested my courage, strengths, weaknesses, and foremost - my faith. I have been married to a rock guitar player for 24 years and have been with him for more than 27 years and we have 6 kids. Be prepared to be mother and father….not a bad thing as it brings you closer to your kids. In our relationship there are the extremes - from dark times to absolute ecstasy. Divorce rate is 90% in this business. Not a pretty number. We have beaten the odds so far. The toughest times are the long tours and being separated for periods of time. Short ones are easier to deal with. Contact by text or phone is what keeps us together emotionally on a daily basis. I try not to be controlling but sometimes it happens. I fly when I can to grab a few days with him.Yes and do we ever put up with a lot of shit - my husband's record label treats me with the utmost respect.Wish all did the same. The wives in my group stick together for support so we don't feel so alone.Would like to see as many girlfriends and wives as possible connecting here. |
