Sound Engineer's Girlfriend

I'm looking for some logical thoughts to my anxiety about my boyfriend touring. In my mind, him going on tour for 3 months means that I don't mean a whole lot to him. While I know that's unfair, I just need to talk to someone who is with someone who tours. I struggle to accept that he loves me as much as he says he does because he's ok with being away from me for so long. I've never been with a touring sound engineer or anyone who is gone frequently so I don't really know how to react.

I trust him, but I really don't want to commit to that and be let down.

I kind of think of it this way:

-There is really no reason for someone on tour to even attempt to keep a girlfriend if that's not what they really wanted

-His job does not give him the choice of staying home

-The fact that he is "okay" with being away from you means that he trusts you and your love for him. It's like being best friends with someone, you don't always worry how much they love you even if you haven't spoken in months

-I hate to do the whole "guys do this" thing but honestly, ONE TRACK MIND

-The first time my bf went on tour I told him "don't forget about me" and he said "I promise I won't this road is grueling" so it's not really all fun and games like it always seems

I hope something in here helps!
