The importance of brushing your Baby’s teeth

Babies need help brushing their teeth until they are about 7 years old. Parents should try establishing this healthy habit early on in life.  That way, your child won’t be uncomfortable with a toothbrush later on. Clean your baby’s gums before teething with a wet towel. Your baby’s first teeth are also a chance to establish a good habit in cleaning your baby’s teeth before the new ones show up. Milk teeth help your child to speak correctly and reserve a spot for the permanent ones. Milk teeth are also important in biting and chewing. In order to clean your baby’s first teeth more effectible use long handle toothbrushes with a small head. Use toothpaste designed for infants. Babies tend to swallow a lot of toothpaste and adult toothpaste has a lot of fluoride. Fluoride causes fluorosis. It’s highly recommended you take your baby to the dentist soon after his/her 1st birthday. That way the dentist can prevent any potential problems early on. Avoid sugar at all costs in your baby’s diet. It’ll give you some headaches later on.  Preserve your baby’s perfect smile. Bonne chance!
