We have just arrived in the states and are based in Purcellville, VA. I have two kids and desperately need to start meeting other moms. How is the best way to go about finding playgroups in the area, moms groups etc?

Hi Kim, I'mnot sure if my original reply was sent through this website.  I always seem to have a bit of difficulties if I forget to log in first.

Please accept my apologies if this is duplicated.  My suggestions are to check out what's in your area and depending on the age of your children and financial situation maybe the folllowing ideas could be of some help.  Music Together, Little Gyms, Gymboree, etc.  I don't know what's available to you in your area... as I live in NY and we have local parks, libraries and gatherings which are posted online.

I would suggest searching by your zip code and looking for mom and tots, mommy and me, mom groups, etc.

I will search - we are a bit out in the country in Purcellville so I dont think alot of the places you mentioned are too close - Leesburg is our closest big town so maybe Ill have to check there.
