I moved to Arizona about 6 months ago with my husband and son. I got laid off last year and have been looking for new employment here in Arizona. I struggle not only with not being able to help provide for my family but not having any friends or any family around I don't get a break from anything and don't have anyone to share my thoughts or struggle with. My son is a wonderful kid but there are days when I just want to disappear. My husband doesn't get how much I want to get out of the house and just be me for a day. I feel as though I have lost some part of myself on this journey to motherhood and I am trying desperately to get it back. I set up a date for us, no baby and no baby talk, just to get out and enjoy one another again. I feel lonely and I would love some feed back! Thank you all! |

Check out www.momsclub.org and see if there is a chapter near you. I joined when my son was four months old, and now two, he has lots of friends (and me too). They have playgroups, moms night out, field trips, and lots of moms in the same boat as you.

I can say I have encountered the same life journey being a stay at home mom of 3 aged as of today 8, 6, and 3 year olds. I worked with my first child then it didn't cut it having to pay for child care. I loved being with my kids but felt something missing now for a year I have been a Discovery Toys Consultant and get to meet lots of families, child care givers, teachers, etc and earn extra income to help out the family income and make a little extra to treat myself. Thank you all for your comments, it feels so nice to know I am not alone in my feelings. Helen, I already sent Moms club an email to see if I can find a chapter in my area, thank you, I never would have thought about that at all. I looked and looked for Mommy and me classes when I moved but all the ones I found you had to pay for and we just couldn't do that. Theresa, thank you so much for your words and I do have faith we will make it through this I just want to be whole once we do. Thank you for your number you might be sorry you gave it to me.
