My 7 month old son wont experiment with finger foods, we've tried different flavored puffs, cereal, banana, mango, melon,etc. as soon as he sucks the flavor from something he gags and spits it out, he doesnt want anything foreign in his month other than his smooth baby food, if it has lumps he spits those out too, is this normal or cause for concern?

Have you tried eating it in front of him and then trying to get him to eat it? Maybe try showing him other babies his age eating finger foods. I wouldn't be too concerned by it, though ask his pediatrician. I would think that it should be ok until he turns a year.
