Discussion Question
Hello there everyone. I thought since school is getting ready to start (or already has in some places) That everyone may want to talk about what changes will happen in your homes with your children when school starts. What things do you do to get ready???

Well, since my oldest has ADHD he has a real hard time adjusting to changes expecially when there are many different changes....so about a month before I talk to him about what his schedule will be like and put it on his wall so he can see it and get familiar with it. We go school shopping early on and clean out closets and drawers so that everything is neat and in order to avoid the 'I can't find or I don't have' syndrom. And most important of all we slowly adjust our sleep patterns about two weeks before school starts to get used to the new time schedule.

The biggest helpful hint I ever got was: make sure clothes and lunches are fixed the night before. I stack my kids clothes for the next day on the freezer. I include socks underwear and shoes so that there is no arguement as to what each child is going to wear. If you child is old enough they can pick out there own outfits right before going to bed.

A trick I learned from sending my kids to camp was to create complete outfits "rolls", with the socks and undies so they don't "forget" to wear them...Now I just hang up there outfits (uniforms make it easier) and attatch the socks and underwear with a clothespin, a usually do 2 weeks worth so that if someone spills or gets dirty before they leave..and with all boys that happens ALOT...they can always change
