New to Saginaw

Hi. My name is Mitzi, I am a 31 year old mother of 1, a 6 month old baby girl named Mackenzie. We moved to Saginaw about 2 weeks ago from Florida. I am a Registered Nurse by trade but am happy to say that I will  be staying home with my daughter since our move here!

We are hoping to meet up with other mommies and babies/kids to play and hang out with. We like taking walks when the weather is nice and have just recently found a nice park to go to. We also would like to start going to the Childrens zoo on a regular basis just to have something to do.

If anyone is interested let us know! We would love to meet and make some new friends! If you have any other ideas of what we could do PLEASE let us know. We have almost no idea of what is around here.

Thanks!, Mitzi and Mackenzie

We moved here to Freeland 8 months age and I'm in the same boat, looking for other mommies to hang with and have playdates. Maybe we can meet up at a park sometime. Also, i just discovered the moms club of midland. they do some fun activities, I'm going to attend a couple this month to see if I wanna join. Let me know if your interested. You can check out their website or I can give you an email address. Hope to hear back from you. Have a great day!

Hey Jennifer. I just looked in to the Midland moms club. I dont live in the areas they say the club is for. Do you know how strict they are about that? I am waiting to hear back from them also. Thanks for the info.

OK, I wrote a long reply and it never posted.  Grrr...

Mitzi, I'm from Freeland, but I think the Midland group is open to newcomers.  You may want to check out the MOPS group in Saginaw; they are active and one of my friends is a member and loves it.

Center Courts on Center Rd. has playgroup on Tues/Thurs from 10-11, and your kiddo may be a tad young, but a lot of moms bring little ones and they do fine.  They only run through Memorial Day, though.  There is a spray park behind the Zauel library, too, and that opens in June.  We go to that often.

The Children's Zoo is great, as is the Children's Museum.  Both downtown.  The libraries have playgroups, so you may want to check their websites or give them a call.

If you want a contact with the MOPS group, let me know.

By the way, I'm a SAHM to boy/girl twins, age 2-1/2.  We go to the Tittabawassee Township Park and the park behind Zauel most often, though we may branch out this year now that the kids are older.

Hello to both of you!  I'm sorry I haven't been on here in awhile. We can plan an outing if you would like. I have two boys, 9 and 5.  We could go to the Museum or anywhere else, anything sounds good to me.

I'd love to meet you all at the park on wednesday if that sounds good to everyone else. I've only been to the Tittabawassee township park and Imerman park. Any park would be fine with me. Whats a good time for everyone?

Valorie,

My boys are 6 and 11, theyd probably get along good with yours...

I can't do it this Wednesday; my son has speech.  Unless you guys meet in the morning!

Morning is fine for me. What time is good for you Tracy? My boys will be in school so Ill just have my baby in her stroller. I think Tittabawassee Township Park is easier with the stroller if thats ok with you guys.

I prefer Titt Township, so that works.  10am would work for us...does that work for everybody else?

posted by TRACY on 05/09/2011 06:29 PM | edit | delete

10 am at Titt also works for me also. See you there.

Is the Titt park off Midland Rd?

posted by mitzi on 05/09/2011 06:48 PM | edit | delete

Yes, it's off Midland Rd.

Until we wrap up speech the end of May, the only time I have to work out on Wednesdays is in the a.m., so if I'm not there at 10am, I'm just running behind.  I'll try to get to the gym earlier than usual so we can still make it.  You'll have to forgive me if I'm grubby...  but I figure since we're outside you guys won't mind too much.

Oh, and if it's like it was this morning, we won't be there!  Ugh, mud.

Undecided
