Hello!

I'm Sarah and I found the group looking for intelligent political discussion with like and non-like minded people. I am a registered Democrat but was an independent for many years. Growing up in the ultra-right environment of Arizona drove me away from the conservative end of thinking. I generally support women's rights, LGBT issues, strong public schools, national healthcare, reduction of corporate power, closing the wage gap, elimination of vice laws, and less military interventions in the world. I care about our environment but I am not militantly green or PETA. Generally my politcal beliefs just try to follow logical thinking and the idea that the government should care for it's weakest and most vulnerable constituants.

Besides politics I love music, and I have taught K-5 music for 5 years. I have a beautiful 4 year old step daughter and I am due with my own in November.
