I am 23 years old and have to wonderful kids, Ava-3 and Bobby-2. How do I keep my babes and me happy all day long? We are in kind of a rut right now, we are financially struggling and I am without a car at the moment. I just almost feel like i'm losing my noodles. |

I understand your pain. I'm a stay at home mom of three girls age 7,5, and almost 3 and don't have a car either (due to epilepsy though). Being financially challenged just leads to being creative and is easier than it may seem. Let them use blankets to make a "tent" or a mattress as a trampoline. Give them a couple small flash lights and let them play hide and seek with the lights out. Take socks and use them as puppets. Use paper towel rolls (after they're empty) and use them as "telescopes", microphones, or decorate them with crayons. We do alot of this during cold or rainy days. if you're looking to make some extra cash, try clixsense or NPolls after the kids are asleep. It's not fast cash, but helps keep the sanity. Hope this helps. Things will get better! |

I went without a car for a long time! I believe me I understand financially struggling. It's hard to keep kids entertained all day long and especially those ages. I have 3 kids. Hayleigh 5, Jordan 4, and Noah 18 months. If you google Toddler craft ideas, you can get alot of web cites that offer craft ideas perfect for your 2 and 3 year olds and most of them use items you already have in your home or items that you can purchase at your local craft store. Me and my kids recently did a craft where we used a paper plate and painted it brown then we went outside and found small pebbles to glue onto the painted plate wherever they chose. When the paint and glue dried I glued on 4 legs and a head and that completed out mosaic turtle. It gave them something constructive to do outside and then something entertaining to do inside. Anyway there are lots more ideas like this on these websites. We also made a butterfly using a paper towel some markers and a wooden clothes pin. They love doing these things and it inspires their creativity not to mention it helps with their hand eye cordination. Anyway I hope this helps :) |

TAKE THEM OUTSIDE that always works for me. i have a 1 1/2 yo and a 3 yo. they are both boys and they fight alot. haha boys watchya gunna do. but when i take them outsied its nice for me and they actually behave. i have 2 swing sets and a slide and lots of room to run. if you have any toys take them out. i am financially in the hole but if you spend quality time with them they should behave better and it will definately keep them occupied. of course there will still be those days when you want to pull your hair out. there is no advoiding that. get color crayons (washable) or markers and a huge coloring book. they might try to eat the crayons but if you get the non toxic ones you have nothing to worry about. i hope it gets better for you and i wish you the best. |
