Hello! I just moved to KCMO from Oklahoma City, and am looking for Playdates/friends for my 6yr old son Ryan and 2yr old daughter Abigail, I live around Downtown Kansas city, MO on the Eastside, but were planning on moving to Independence or Blue Springs, due to neighborhood problems. Ryans not having good luck finding friends down here we have some neighborhood kids here but their parents will not allow him over there and wont allow them over our house, and im not really sure why, and its hurting his feelings, he gets so stressed out and depressed I dont know what to do I feel so bad for him, we dont even have family here so it makes it even more hard, so I saw this site and thought maybe it could help me help him meet new friends.

Hello and welcome to KC!  I am sorry things have not been going smoothly for your little boy.  It must be difficult to watch his feelings become hurt that way. Our group welcomes every mommy and child.  I personally have a 2 yr old and a 3 month old, so my children aren't to that point yet, but there are many mommy's in the group that could help you with this situation.

 Have you visited KCMommies.com's official website?  That is where our official calendar of activities is located as well as all our mommy forums including one that is for discussing the world of elementary aged children.  We cover the entire KC area, but we also have area groups, so you can build stronger relationships with local moms. Currently there is not a group for midtown, but there is one for East, and you can join activities that any group is holding.   We do playdates--at parks, local children's attraction, the zoo montly in the warmer months, and we also have Mom's Nights. 

Anyway, it's a really supportive group, and I'm not sure what I would do without it.  I hope we can help you find what you need.  Oh, and my name on the official site is klhenson03, so come join us!
