Bedtime potty

Hey guys, I just had a question about my five year old girl.  She goes potty during the day but still wakes up wiht a wet pull up in the morning.  I was just wondering if this is "normal" for a child her age or if there's something I could do to help her get completely potty trained.  Is this one of those things that she'll eventually do when she's ready or is it just biology?  She doesn't have any accidents during the day but she starts school this fall and I'd like to have her completely potty trained by then.  Any input or tips would be great!

My daughter also had bedwetting at that age.  She was fine in school and going out but she wet the bed almost nightly and we kept her in pull ups all through kindergarten and even part of first grade.

One thing I use to do to try and help her stay dry was stop her fluid intake about 2 hours before bedtime.  Also we didn't make a big deal out of it I guess because I too had a simular problem as a child.  I wet the bed as I remember even in first grade.

It really started to bother her to wear pull ups to bed after her younger brother stopped having nightime accidents.  I guess I was more concerned with her feeling confident even though she was still having nightime accidents.

Talk to her peditrician about it just to rule out anything medical but my personal experience and also watching my daughter have the same experience it is something I outgrew and my daughter also outgrew.

Hope that helps,

Mimi

My son is 4 and still has night time accidents on occasion. I agree with Mary Ellen. I wouldn't make a big fuss over it because you don't want her to feel bad but this is something that she will probobly outgrow,

my boy is almost 3 and is fully potty trained. this is what i did. his bed time is 9pm so i stopped giving him things to drink at 8 and still had him use the bathoom before we put him to bed 8:50 or so. he caught on really quick and i didnt have any problems. it was during his nap in the afternoon that gave me trouble. then again i hear that girls take longer in some areas than boys and vice versa. hope it helps
